Drip You Later

The other night I went to the Dripolator coffee shop for their open mic. I've performed there a few times this fall, but I haven't been singing much during the holidays, so I just went to watch and document the action. I was interested in making what's called a panograph after seeing some "how to's" on the internet. So basically you keep your camera set on manual so the lighting doesn't change, and then just snap a bunch of pictures, be sure to keep your camera from moving closer or further away and just move the lens angles around. Take a lot of shots, and capture a lot of area. Once you do that you can put the pics together like a puzzle using a photo editing program, or you could just print them out and physically construct your image. After some intense hours or drooling and staring blankly into the computer screen, I think it may be worth it to print and do it manually.

So here's what I came up with...

Drip-a-Steve

Along with the music and photography, some fierce games of Battleship were played...

Gregg cut his hand at work that day so, we all had to sign his bandage...

Despite it all G managed to render some most impressive caricatures of yours truely...

and some other folks, which can be seen on the back of the paper Steve O used to give directions to his new abode for a little housewarming the next night...

As you can probably tell, the experience of receiving directions from Steve blows Mapquest or Google out of the water. You just can't beat the face to face.

Schirner Chair Update:

My last post introduced the lovely Miss Schirner's latest project, transforming an old dust collector, I mean chair her mother found in a barn some twenty-odd years ago, into a shabby-chic thing of comfort and beauty. In the before picture, you can see that the seat was blown out. Fixing the seat was priority #1 as J-Schirn began her weaving journey one afternoon...

Despite the hardships of splinters and sore, dried hands, Jennifer bore her burden with a look of constant excitement, joy and happiness!!

Magnifique!!

to be continued...

Winter Fashion Alert!

I recently added a few pictures onto my Flickr page. If you click on this one below, and look at the note directly on the picture, you will find a description of functional/retro look that I tried to pioneer years back. Here Parrot Guvn'a Cowboy gives a sultry look sure to induce the masses into hysteria...
